REFLECT

Reflect is an exploration of emotional terrain through the interplay of moving image and music. Using real footage of natural elements—water, fire, and fog—the work manipulates time, rhythm, and texture to create a space suspended between the organic and the constructed. Through visual repetition and transformation, familiar materials take on new forms, inviting viewers into a state of reflection, perception, and presence.

Sound is a structural element woven directly into the fabric of the visual experience. The score and the image rise and fall together, shaping the work’s emotional rhythm. Inspired by patterns found in nature, the geometry of light and motion, and the dynamic relationship between sound and image, Reflect offers an immersive, non-narrative experience that encourages stillness, observation, and introspection.

Travis Chao

VISUAL ARTIST

Travis Chao is a visual artist based in Los Angeles. His work explores the intersection of moving image, sound, and natural elements, often focusing on water, fog, and light as subjects of both observation and transformation. Rooted in traditional filmmaking but expanded through experimental processes, his practice centers on the emotional possibilities of visual rhythm, texture, and audiovisual synchronization. Reflect marks his latest exploration of the space between image, sound, and perception.
